LIIU BY LUCEPLAN: A LIGHTING SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR CREATIVE FREEDOM
Liiu by Luceplan turns the suspension fixture into a flexible lighting system. Designed by Dutch studio VANTOT, Liiu uses a framework of electrified cables, counterweights, and compact light sources to create compositions that can range from restrained and linear to expansive and sculptural.
Maximum Flexibility
Rather than relying on a traditional pendant form, Liiu is built around slender metal cables that are anchored overhead and held in place by counterweights. Each lamp attaches directly to these cables using lightweight arms. The limited number of visible components gives the system a clean quality while preserving a sense of openness within the space.
A Design that Responds to the Space
One of Liiu’s defining qualities is its ability to take on different configurations. This flexibility allows designers to develop layouts that respond to the specific dimensions and character of a project. Depending on the configuration, the system can support anything from a small grouping of cables to large-scale installations with numerous points of light.
Tailored-Made Lighting
Luceplan has developed a dedicated configurator for Liiu, giving designers greater control over the system’s arrangement and scale. This tool supports the creation of tailored configurations, making Liiu particularly compelling for projects that call for a lighting feature designed around the architecture itself.
